The Monsons' 33 years of exceptional work is a testament to their ability to do just that. In 1975, as part of the University of Minnesota School of Architecture’s foreign study program, Jon was among the students to study the significance of the medieval German town of Landschute, the once capital of the powerful state of Lower Bavaria. From this experience, he developed an appreciation for architecture rich in textures, compatible with its existing surroundings and for the integration of architect and builder according to the old master builder practice.
